Pauline Diaz, an active and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, should be home with her family enjoying this stage of her life, but she isn’t. Pauline, aged 63 at the time of her disappearance, worked at an H-E-B grocery store in San Antonio, Texas. Family and friends of Pauline describe Pauline as a wonderful friend to everyone she met, as well as being strong, healthy, and more than willing to help anyone in need. Prior to her disappearance, Pauline was in the process of divorcing her husband, Pedro “Pete” Ruiz.
Pauline Diaz was last seen on December 10, 2010, at 2:30 pm. She was driving her 2010 Toyota Tacoma after leaving her work. Pauline held a brief conversation with a female customer on her way to her truck. A private investigator working on the case claims that surveillance footage from the store shows Pauline and the unknown female customer looking all around the truck as if they were looking for something.
Pauline was supposed to go to her estranged husband’s home to pick up a lawn mower, although he claims he did not see her at all that day. Pauline’s truck was found days later on the side of a road, miles away from her estranged husband Pedro’s home. However, according to the private investigator hired by Pauline’s family they believe that she arrived home after her shift. Pauline’s black sneakers which she was seen wearing in the surveillance footage were found in her home with sand stuck to them as well as some of her clothing scattered around her home. Her family found this odd, as she was known to keep a very clean home.
