Neil Scott missing: Campbeltown man’s dog spotted as search continues five days after he vanished

THE dog of a Campbeltown man who’s been missing for five days has been spotted, cops have said.

Police are urging the public to be on the lookout for Neil Scott who was last seen around 1pm on Tuesday, at the Co-Op store in the area. He is believed to have gone to the local post office shortly after. Officers say he was reported missing from his home in Burnside Street around 10.15 am on Thursday.

Neil is described as being around 5ft 10in height, of medium build with thinning grey/white hair. He was last seen wearing a black thigh-length winter coat with a hood and reflective white stripes on two zips on the chest area. He was also wearing faded blue jeans, a dark coloured cap and beige walking boots.

Inspector Ross MacDonald said: “There are real concerns for Neil’s welfare, and it is vital we trace him as soon as possible.

“Neil is known to go walking in the area with his dog, an elderly cross breed collie, and we are urging people to keep a lookout for them and report any potential sightings to police.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0984 of 8 July, 2021.”
