Teachers’ desperate plea to find ‘lovely’ Croydon schoolboys missing for a week
Teachers have taken to social media in a desperate plea for help in finding two schoolboys who are missing from Croydon. Darren, who is in Year 9, has been missing from his home address in Croydon since February 1, while Mekhi Hall-Spencer, 13, was also last seen at home in Croydon on February 2, police say.
In posts that suggest the boys went to the same school, they say Darren is a “lovely boy” and “one of the funniest students”, and that Mekhi is a “good kid”.
One wrote: “PLEASE SHARE Darren is our second student missing. Was last seen with Mekhi. Please help to find him, this lovely boy needs to be back home where he is safe. Another teacher Tweeted: “Another student from my school gone missing. Only in Y9! Darren is honestly one of the funniest students I’ve come across! I hope he comes back!” A third wrote about Mekhi: “Never thought I would ever had to do this! He started the week in my classroom and now he’s missing…there’s been apparent sightings in Marble Arch and Brighton. He’s a good kid and he needs to come home to his family and school community so please retweet” A football group also shared their own message. They wrote: “Mekhi, a previous attendee at our sessions is missing. We received the above from his mother today, please share it. Anyone with information should contact the number listed or the police directly. Let’s do what we can to get Mekhi home as soon as possible”
