Growing concern for Catrin Maguire who is still missing a month after vanishing on Anglesey
Appeals and searches have been launched to locate the 22-year-old, but there is still no sign of her
Concerns continue for the welfare of Catrin Maguire after she vanished from Holyhead, on Anglesey, a month ago.
Despite a series of appeals and searches, the 22-year-old remains missing weeks after she was last seen on Monday, November 15. An initial appeal was put out by North Wales Police (NWP) in a bid to locate her. Police originally stated they believed Ms Maguire may be in the Bangor area and were concerned for her safety.
Days later on November 18, with still no sign of Catrin, NWP launched another appeal urging people to check their CCTV footage.
The force said she was last seen on South Stack Road, Holyhead, not far from the RSPB nature reserve, walking in the direction of the lighthouse on South Stack, on the day she disappeared.
At that time, Catrin had been spotted at 12.20 pm, walking along Thomas Street towards Porthyfelin Road / South Stack Road.
She was described as being about 5ft 5 ins tall, of slim build, and police also released CCTV footage of her last known location.
The day after, on November 19, police issued another appeal asking if anyone may have seen her, near the RSPB nature reserve, at South Stack, at around 1.18 pm on November 15. By this time crews from Mon Search and Rescue, Search and Rescue Dogs Wales (SARDA), NWP, RAF Valley, mountain rescue team, the coastguard and RNLI volunteers had joined in the search for the missing woman.
Despite their efforts, Catrin remained missing and on November 28, officers were still out searching for the 22-year-old, at South Stack, stopping motorists and talking to walkers, in another bid to try and find out what has happened to her.
Two weeks after and there is still no sign of Catrin, as concerns for her wellbeing remain. An appeal by NWP has said: “If you have seen Catrin, or have any dashcam or CCTV footage from your property that you have not yet reviewed, we would ask you to contact us urgently.” North Wales Police has asked anyone who may have spotted Catrin to contact them via the live webchat or call 101 quoting iTrace ref 40695.
